Advanced Photography at the WEA

I've been invited to put together an Advanced Photography Course at the Workers Education Authority to start in September. It should look something like this;

Photography – more than just a nice picture !

Designed to encourage photographers to explore the potential of photography as an expressive medium and produce work that reflects their ideas and feelings and so find their own visual vocabulary, but also suitable for anyone with a with a general interest in photography. This course combines looking at photography’s history and considering the work of acclaimed ‘master’ photographers as well as contemporary issues and a critical engagement with photographs (including those of students) to improve visual skills and photographic knowledge. Students will be asked to question images and make informed judgements about the nature of photography and messages conveyed.
